Encore: A versatile new skirt from Love Notions

I tested this fantastic new skirt from Love Notions, the Encore . It's a gored skirt with incorporated pockets made for woven or stable knit fabrics. Fits waist 26.5-49.5" and hip 35.5-59.5". Knee or midi length in pencil, A-line, pleated, or full. I made both the A-line midi and the full midi. Sorry it's in such a dark fabric - I cut a lovely olive corduroy but for the first time ever my calibration got out of whack just over the time I left it and came back after lunch 😭. I'm going to see if I can make a knee length A-line or otherwise salvage it. The fit is fantastic and it's got nice-sized pockets. I can't wait to make more!

Using AirTable to keep track of your stash of fabric and patterns, projects, and wishlists/plans

Fiber artists (primarily knitters) have Ravelry. From day one when it was on limited release it's been recognized as great information architecture that provides a really usable and useful way to manage your stuff. So the sewing community has had a number of companies introduce "the Ravelry for sewing" apps but none have really caught on or had the usability/utility of Ravelry. Documenting your stuff can be part of the fun or add stress. For me, it's part of the fun. I ended up making my own database in AirTable and while it's not perfect, it does most of what I want to do. Useful features for me: Baseline version is free (and the paid one isn't too expensive and offers a couple of neat extra features) Available through a browser or as an app - automatically syncs Allows links between different tables within a database Allows pictures to be associated with each record My set up. Sewing for Winter Running

I've run on and off from the summer before I started college in 1991. I live in Maryland - tagline "American in Miniature" - so we have all the seasons and sometimes all the seasons in one day. Any given day during the summer we can be hotter and more humid than Florida and sometimes during the winter we are colder than Maine. We've had fairly mild winters recently, which is disappointing for all of us who enjoy the 2-3 5" snows we used to get per year. Generally when it snows here it doesn't stick around so it's nice and then we have something else. We do get freezing rain a bit which is really treacherous. I definitely prefer to run outside although I did run exclusively on the treadmill when my kids were babies.
