I'm a Cashmerette Club collaborator and got a year of All Access membership in return for trying this pattern.
AND I'M SO HAPPY I DID! I have been wanting a jean jacket basically since I grew out of the one I had in high school. It was close to shredded from all the wear but I'd be wearing it still if it fit. I've also bought a pattern that isn't in my size and started to try to grade it out but then stopped, frustrated. I looked at a pattern at another company but I wasn't sure it had the features I wanted.
So when I got a chance to make this - HURRAY!
It's the Cashmerette (Club) Glover Jacket. Fits up to a 62" chest.
I made a toile and with the toile I found some changes I needed to make to the sleeve. I might have gone a bit far but I can wear this with a sweater if I like. I used the full bicep version but then raised the sleeve cap and added a bit at the center back seam. I also lengthened the sleeves, narrowed the shoulders, and dropped and extended the armscye.

Then I set out to start sewing. I bought some 10oz Indigo denim from Nick of Time Fabrics that was perfect. And I had Wawak's poly/cotton topstitching thread in "Levis". The only thing to decide on was the buttons. I thought I had copper but I didn't have enough. I'm glad though because I really like the antique silver.
I used a 3.5mm stitch to topstitch. Pressed the seam, did the first with an edge stitch foot and the second a scant quarter inch from the fold, not the previous line of stitching. So it's a bit narrower but I like it better.
The welt pockets turned out great.
I elected not to do the bar tacks on either end but I sort of regret it.
I bound around the pocket bag to keep that nice. The buttonholes. Well. Weren't amazing. But did get done. Honestly I might hand stitch the next one except there are like 12.
Anyway, highly recommended. It's not hard to make at all but there are a million steps. Just be patient.
