First try at a merino base layer: nice, but not exactly right

Continuing on my #WinterRunningWardrobe journey. I made a Love Notions Classic Tee from the merino. I cut the crew neck - and importantly - used the pattern I had already fit and had great success with.

So here's the problem: it's a great fit for a casual tee.

It's not what you need in a base layer, but I had to run with it to really know. Cool air came up from below and it didn't have a lot of chances to wick since it wasn't in close contact with my body.

Also, I would want longer sleeves and/or thumb cuffs.

So I have one more of the 100% merino left and I'm going to try a different pattern. Hopefully I can get a third out of the remnants of the first two.
